ABOUT SWELLMAP What it does: The MetOcean Solutions wave and wind forecasting system offers an unparalleled, high resolution prediction of the ocean and coastal conditions for any location on Earth. Normal marine forecasts are based on large scale ocean regions and do not consider the effects of seabed shape or land topography on the local wave and wind climate. Our forecast solutions can be configured to whatever scale is required - for example resolving wave energy gradients behind an island, along a beach or into a harbour entrance. The system is now available to commercial marine operators, as well as recreational users. Forecast data are available as graphs, maps or text at hourly intervals out to 7 days ahead. The Nowcast provides an assessment of current conditions. | |||
